Let's check out how to switch devices with the Extension Takeover process.

How to Perform Extension Takeover

1. Click the Profile icon.

2. Select Change Extension.

3. Select the device from the drop-down menu. The extension configured for the takeover is displayed in this drop-down list. 

4. Select Proceed. This generates a PIN.

5. The PIN to enter in the deskphone is displayed. This initiates a call to the desk phone.

6. Answer the desk phone when it rings. You are prompted to enter the PIN displayed on the app. 

7. After successful validation, a message appears on the desk phone screen confirming that the extension takeover is successful.

 

8. To complete the process of takeover, click Ok in the Agent App.

Note: Extension Takeover can also be used with Common Area Phones, allowing multiple agents to access shared devices and temporarily take control of extensions in flexible work environments such as reception areas, clinics, and shared workspaces.
